Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actor who is employed in television and film, is best known for films like Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Born as the only children of Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu Alexandra, she entered the world of show business early, and ended up acting in lead roles on various television dramas by the time she was sixteen. Her fame was due to her part on Der Tunnel. This paved the way for other unforgettable parts, such as Adolf Hitler's secretary of state Traudl Junge. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films featuring the actress. Alexandra is involved in several notable projects, globally and nationally. These include British biographical film Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historic mini-series Napoleon and many more. She also served on the jury of the Transylvania International Film Festival, as well as at the Cannes Film Festival.
